May 27, 2024As a culture architect at Ching Clothing and a proud Lucbanin, I’m thrilled to introduce our latest creation—an iconic tee inspired by Lucban Quezon’s vibrant Buhusan Festival. Join me as I share the story behind this unique design and its homage to my hometown’s rich cultural heritage.
Discovering Buhusan:
Buhusan, celebrated every Easter Sunday in Lucban, fills the streets with water-themed festivities and spontaneous revelries. Derived from “buhos,” meaning “to pour water,” Buhusan embodies joy, community, and tradition in Lucban. Growing up amidst Buhusan’s colorful chaos, I cherished the laughter, camaraderie, and sheer exuberance.
The Buhus Saya Festival-Inspired Tee:
Inspired by Buhusan’s vibrant atmosphere, the creative minds at Ching Clothing crafted a shirt that embodies the festival’s spirit, now known as Buhus Saya. To capture the carefree ambiance of Buhusan, our design features whimsical illustrations of The Pooch, our beloved mascot, lounging beside a pool infused with Lucban’s charm. This playful depiction brings to life the joyous camaraderie and infectious laughter of Buhusan.
Celebrating Lucban’s Cultural Heritage:
Our Buhus Saya Buhusan-inspired design celebrates Lucban’s cultural heritage and unique traditions. By infusing elements of Buhusan into our design, we share our vibrant culture with the world and inspire others to embrace their own heritage.
